My first time in China was in Guangzhou (Canton) April 27, 2005 . I wantedto attend the Canton Fair for business possibilities. My biggest difficulty was the language barrier. I have met some Chinese merchants that can speak English but it was not sufficient. I also needed assistance in places to eat and other needs. Being new to this place, I was apprehensive about getting lost in the city area. And being taken by …taxi drivers. All of my fears turned out to be just that. But the best news is getting to know Kelvin. We hadMandarin dinner near my hotel. He speaks very good English. Kelvin is a Chinese born and raised in Malaysia. He can speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Malayu (Malay language) and English. I believe he also resided in San Jose, California for several years.I’m presently trying out Kelvin to source some items for me. His young lady assistant, Carrie , also has speaks good English. Kelvin told me that Carrie had reached the highest level of English study in China - level 8.
Kelvin gave me the impression of a young man who is gung ho in his business. He is determined in what he is doing and is fervently searching to assist business people visiting China. He can do warehousing, shipping, inspecting etc? What else can one ask for ?.
